Borussia Dortmund secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 after defeating Mexico’s Monterrey 2-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, concluding the Round of 16 of the tournament currently taking place in the United States.

Dortmund started strongly, with Guinean star Serhou Guirassy opening the scoring in the 14th minute before adding a second in the 24th minute, giving his team a comfortable lead by halftime.
